Welcome to Lucky Maths!

Lucky Maths is an innovative platform dedicated to helping students truly understand mathematics. Our mission is to transform the way learners approach mathematics by breaking down complex concepts into clear, practical, and engaging methods.

Mathematics is often perceived as challenging, but at Lucky Maths, we believe that with the right approach, anyone can master the art of problem-solving.

Our website offers a variety of learning techniques designed to cater to different learning styles. From visual aids and interactive exercises to real-world applications and step-by-step explanations, Lucky Maths ensures that students not only memorise formulas but also comprehend the logic behind them.

This deep understanding builds confidence, enhances critical thinking, and improves long-term retention.

By using diverse strategies such as conceptual breakdowns, problem-solving frameworks, ratio tables and guided practice, Lucky Maths empowers learners to tackle topics ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra and beyond.

These methods help students develop analytical skills, improve accuracy, and foster a genuine appreciation for mathematics.

Whether you are preparing for exams, strengthening your foundation, or aiming for excellence, Lucky Maths is your trusted companion on the journey to mathematical mastery.

We look forward to seeing how we can help you excel in Mathematics.

Meet the co-founders behind Lucky Maths

At Lucky Maths, our strength lies in the experience and passion of our educators. Albert and Brad have worked together for many years, sharing a common goal: to inspire the next generation through mathematics. Their combined expertise and innovative approaches ensure that every learner receives the highest quality support.

Albert Luck

Albert has been teaching since 2012, with experience in both secondary education and Further Education (FE).

Since 2017, he has focused on Further Education (FE), specialising in EDEXCEL GCSE Foundation level.

His teaching philosophy centers on helping learners progress by developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts rather than relying on rote memorisation.

In 2022, Albert completed the Professional Lead Development Programme through the Centre of Excellence in Mathematics, which transformed his approach to teaching.

Today, his mission is to embed mastery techniques into every lesson, using tools such as manipulatives, bar models, and ratio tables.

These strategies make mathematics accessible to all students, fostering confidence and long-term success.

Albert is also an examiner for GCSE EDEXCEL.

Brad James

Brad has over a decade of experience teaching Mathematics at the Secondary level.

He began his career in Northampton after earning a BSc (Hons) in Computing with Education (2:1) from the University of Northampton.

In 2013, Brad traveled to Uganda to help build a playground and teach children—an experience that strengthened his passion for education.

After returning to Lincolnshire, Brad taught in a large secondary school in King’s Lynn, where he completed the Teacher Subject Specialism Training (TSST) course in Mathematics in partnership with the Cambridge Maths Hub. This training deepened his expertise and commitment to high-quality teaching.

In 2017, Brad founded Mr James Maths Tuition, which has grown steadily ever since.

While he no longer works full-time in schools, Brad continues to teach on a supply basis to maintain strong subject knowledge.

He specialises in Primary and Secondary Mathematics, 11+ preparation, and Functional Skills.

Brad holds an Enhanced DBS and a Level 3 Safeguarding Children certificate, ensuring a safe and professional learning environment for all students.

“Albert and Brad share a common goal: to inspire the next generation by making mathematics accessible, engaging, and enjoyable for all learners.”
